The Forging Resilience; Capturing Moments: Living Life with Parkinson's art installation brings together inspiring quotes, stories, texts, wordplay and photography to share many journeys of resilience from the global Parkinson's community into one installation that has taken the shape of a tree with thousands of leaves. Each leaf has the quote or message of someone living with or touched by Parkinson's from around the world.
After a premiere at the Montana Museum of Art and Culture in May 2016, the Tree moved to the 2016 World Parkinson Congress in Portland, OR. With your help, the Tree now has the opportunity to be installed in the Michael J. Fox Foundation offices in the lobby of the 23rd floor conference center. Visitors from across the Parkinson's ecosystem including people with Parkinson's and their loved ones, world class researchers, industry partners, government regulators, funders, and every member of our growing family will have the opportunity to see the beautiful manifestation of resilience of the Parkinson's community.
We expect the installation to cost $25,000, so please consider contributing what you can to make the installation of the Tree possible!
The Forging Resilience; Capturing Moments: Living Life with Parkinson's is sponsored by the Silver Foundation and created by talented artist, storyteller, advocate and fellow Patient Council member Hadley Ferguson and Carolyn Maier, Silver Foundation Director. The gift from the Silver Foundation and the Patient Council will be acknowledged on a plaque that will be installed next to the Tree.
In addition to helping install the Tree in the Foundation offices, all Patient Council members are invited to share their words and have them included as part of the piece itself. By sharing your stories and quotes you will inspire, connect and help us build our tree of resilience. Check your email to learn how to submit a quote.
