Raised in Tribute:
$25.00On Aug 12th, Mary Patricia Leaphart went home to be with Jesus. Pat was an extraordinary woman who played many roles during her life: Army officer's lady and wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, teacher, advisor, mentor, small business owner, and surrogate mom to so many who crossed her path. In another time she would have been a CEO or a captain of industry. Instead, her career became her family and ensuring that no matter where they lived it was home.
Pat's passion was her family and those who became family. In fact, everyone who crossed her path was made to feel welcome and a part of her family. She prayed for all of them. Just ask those who received half of a set of beanie baby twins from Mom. She would keep one, give the other away to someone she was praying for. Every morning and every night she would pray for each person associated with one of the remaining beanie babies in her bedroom. She was known for always being quick with a joke, a pun or a sarcastic remark. Her sense of humor was sharp, but not as sharp as the defense she would wage on behalf of all those she considered family.
Today she is reunited with her beloved husband Dan and the many family members who have gone on to Heaven before her. We will miss her, but we will see her again.
Surviving include,; son, Russ and his wife, Cindy of Madison, AL; daughters, Caroline Eller and her husband, Dave of Landrum, SC, Dana Burgess and husband, Darren of Charlotte, NC, and Mary Leaphart of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren, Mary and Daniel Leaphart, and Nathan and Jeremy Burgess.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 1PM on August 25th, 2018, at Catawba Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
