He served his country in the Air Force before joining Martin Marietta in 1959 as one of their original computer programmers. He spent 33 years at Martin rising to the position of Vice President of Data Systems until his retirement in 1992. Jack is remembered by his family and friends as a caring, empathetic, and funny man who was a mentor to so many and was always ready with the next practical joke.

He is survived by his first wife of 33 years, Carol Cline; daughter, Connie Cline; son, Scott Cline; son, Todd Cline; daughter, Shannon Washburn; Ten Grandchildren, Brandi, Jason and Chelsea Berghorn; Nate Hudgins; Haley, Kendall and Harrison Cline; Stephanie, Austin and Brandon Washburn; nieces, nephews and step-children.
Jack was diagnosed with Parkinson's about 5 years ago. He managed well and was determined to live a normal life. He followed his neurologists advice with different medications to offset the impact of his condition. However, over time, his dexterity decreased as this disease progressed. Ultimately, he had a significant fall relative to his inability to move his legs in sync with his brain. This fall and subsequent brain injury is what caused his death.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
