Bob has been living with Parkinson's Disease, officially diagnosed, for the last five years, but likely has had it for several more prior to that. He is currently working full time still as a mobile therapist, helping others with brain injuries. His family fears for his safety and well being, especially as the disease seems to be claiming a greater part of him as each month passes. His memory is diminishing along with his motor skills; he sleeps fitfully at night as well. He is on medications, though they do not seem to be helping nearly enough.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
