On June 28, 2018, my mama's 20 year battle with Parkinson's came to an end. She passed at the age of 49, heartbreakingly young. Though the world lost a beautiful soul, memories of her life, the love she shared, and the profound effects she had on those around her will live on forever.

My brother and I grew up watching Mama fight this degenerative disease. Despite her physical and mental suffering, she always had a smile on her face, and unconditional love in her heart. She was the most gentle, caring, and generous soul I will ever know. Mama taught us how to find happiness and strength in the face of pain and adversity, but often it seems as though the pain of her death is too much to overcome. We miss her more than words can express, but we know that she will always be with us, and that she is in a better place, no longer suffering.

No one should have to go through what Mama, and so many others, have gone through. We ask that you consider a donation to the Micheal J. Fox Foundation, to support the research needed to find a cure to Parkinson's Disease.
