After 20 years in the Navy, my dear husband had already dealt with Diabetes, Allergies which at one time were Life-threatening, AD/HD, and BiPolar Disorder. So when his gait changed and he had some short-term memory problems there were many possible causes we had to investigate. Medications were suspect so they were changed, but finally, the doctors confirmed with what several had already suspected: Parkinson's. At age 64, he is still a husband, father, and brother.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
