Donald W. "Don" Bedell, formerly of Canton, Ohio and Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 84 years old.
He was born in Canton, Ohio in 1933, the son of the late James and Pauline Beddell.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Nancy A. (Sirpilla) Bedell of State College, Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law, Don A. and Lori Bedell of State College; granddaughters, Emily Bedell of Portland, Maine and Audrey Bedell of State College; brother David Beddell of Canton and sister Shirley (Beddell) Wright of Canton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother James Beddell of Westerly, Rhode Island and sisters Charlotte (Beddell) Gilmore of Florida and Norma (Beddell) Pappas of Canton.
Don was an avid golfer, prolific singer of old songs, lover of TV & Movie Westerns and game shows and was the consummate jokester. The members of his golf group always enjoyed his jovial nature and his sharp attire on the course.
Don retired from United Rolls (formerly Wean United) of Canton in 1995.
In 1997, he was first diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and fought a long and courageous battle. Throughout it all, he remained positive, never complaining about his disease.
