Mary Ann Landucci
May 23, 1938- May 5, 2018

Mary Ann was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to San Jose, California in 1947.
She married the love of her life Donald Landucci on November 9, 1958, and started a life together.
They had their first child in January 1960, their daughter Karen and then soon after came their son Donnie and daughter Julie Ann.
Mary Ann was full of life and always loved to have gatherings at their home.

Don and Mary Ann were fortunate enough to have nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren and two more on the way!
She was the most loving grandma.

The Diagnosis:
Mary Ann was officially diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 1983 after showing symptoms of not being able to coordinate her hands to tie her own shoes. She also began to be very stiff on her left side and started having tremors on that same side in her elbow and arm.
She was misdiagnosed for three years starting in 1980 until she went to a neurologist and had a CAT scan and found it right away.

As her granddaughter (Katrina born 1986) i have always known my grandma with this disease. I remember she would shake a lot and had a hard time walking. She would have us grab her hand, and stick our elbow tucked by her armpit for support and we would start counting and it would help her get the rhythm to walk. She often had to put her legs up against the wall while she would lay on the couch.
I remember one time, going to Macys with her and i heard someone say Look, that lady must be drunk! I was so upset and angry that someone would say that out loud to someone that had a disease.
My grandma quickly grabbed my hand and told me that it was ok, that people dont know what other people have going on in their lives and not to be angry. She always taught us to stay positive and not to judge others.

Mary Ann started volunteering at the Parkinsons Institute in Sunnyvale, California. She even made a commercial about living with Parkinsons disease. She was very dedicated to the cause. She did a lot to help people to have positive attitudes towards this disease.

With in the last 10years she has been wheel chair bound and her vision turned poorly, her little body was giving up. All the 35 years of multiple medications around the clock, her body slowly deteriorating, and still being the most positive, brave and strong women we all knew and loved!

Mary Ann had a 35 year long battle with Parkinsons disease and i have to say, Parkinsons did not win, she did! Even right up until the very end she was still so positive and thanked god every day for her life, and family and friends.

You will always be our hero, our heart and we are all so proud of the women you were.
We love you to heaven and back.
Xoxo
