Janet was a proud grandmother to Jennifer (Mike), Christine, Tommy, Lia (Nick), Jamie, McKenzie, Patrick, Brett, Broderick, and Sejal; and proud great-grandmother to Grace and Logan. She is survived by her sister Patt Kirksey (Jack), her brother in-law James Mackey (Joanne), and her sisters in-law Judie Mackey, Maureen Loftus (Tom), and Eleanore Ottersen. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Due to her kindness and sweet nature, she had many dear friends too numerous to count.
Her family is comforted knowing she will be joining her predeceased loved ones including her parents James and Maida Dunnigan, her step-mother Maryann Dunnigan, her mother and father in-law Thomas and Eleanore Mackey, her dear sisters and their late husbands Helen Jean Rathnow (Carl) and Marie Young (Howard Lim), her son Patrick S. Janet was retired from the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, having worked at St. Sylvester's Parish for years. She loved her family and friends dearly. Referred to as "Happy Janet" by those close to her, her laughter left a positive impact on the people around her, and she was always cheerful including through her final days. She loved telling stories and following all of the local sports teams. She will be deeply missed and all that knew her will enjoy memories of her for eternity.
A memorial mass is scheduled for 10a on Monday, June 18th at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores.
