Raised in Tribute:
$39.74Our father was by definition, a dreamer. His ambitions and drive were never ending. I was lucky enough to have a father that extended his hand to me, and offered to make all of my dreams true. The most selfless and brilliant man I knew was negatively impacted by Parkinsons disease in his last few years of life.
Nathan was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone on September 10th, 1952. He went to University in the USSR, where he studied biochemistry. He met my mother, Nina, and gave life to my sister Aisa. His studies took him back home to work as a professional biochemist at the Connaught Hospital. His journey then led him to John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, on invitation from a manufacturing company, which was interested in an innovation he created. After selling the patent, he moved to Toronto, Canada, where he started his own water purification company, and spent the rest of his life.
In our fathers last few years, his brilliant mind was silenced by the debilitating effects of Parkinsons. And although we were unable to hear his boisterous laugh again, or one of his cheeky comments, or one of his many business ideas, we knew our vibrant dad was still in there.
True love is selfless. It is prepared to sacrifice.
You will be missed, Nat - 4/2/2018.
