$175.00James (Jim) Thede passed in peace on March 23, 2018 at the age of 80. Survived by his wife, Peggy Caley. Former husband of Jane Thede. Loving father of Jay (Monica) and Tye (Laura). Proud grandfather of Quinten, Grace and Samuel and step-grandfather to Nathaniel and Sarah. Brother of Cheryl Tickner (Dave). James loved his family and had a passion for sports, being an avid fan of the University of Nebraska and the Chicago Cubs.
Jim was born in Merrick county Nebraska and attended Hastings College where he played football. His careers and interests included coaching and officiating multiple sports, banking, fishing, hunting and golf. Diagnosed with Parkinson's over 15 years ago, Jim continued to be active, then living in Colorado. He enjoyed pheasant hunting with this oldest son Jay, and annual trips to Arizona for Spring Training Cubs baseball with his youngest son Tye. Above all, he loved watching his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers.
He will be remembered as someone who genuinely cared about others and carried himself humbly, quietly and confidently. We will miss you.
