Raised in Tribute:
$200.00Mary P. Goode was born January 9, 1939 in New York City to John and Ellen Ryan, both Irish immigrants from Tipperary. Mary grew up in Manhattan and went to Nursing school at Miseracordia School of Nursing in the Bronx. After graduation, she worked at St. John's Hospital in Queens for several years. She spent the last 27 years of her career at Flushing Manor Care Center before retiring in late 2002.
Mary met her husband, Patrick J. Goode, in New York City at a ballroom dance. They were married June 23, 1962 and lived in Elmhurst, Queens, where they raised their three children, Jackie, Patricia, and Sean. During this time, Breezy Point was very much a part of Mary's life as she spent many summer days with family and friends on the beach. When Patrick passed away in 2001, Mary moved down to her beloved Breezy Point. She loved walking around Breezy and chatting with her neighbors as they went by. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren Eamon, Tegan, Sean and Brendan play on the playground and all the other great things Breezy has to offer to the kids.
Recently, Mary was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and the symptoms made it difficult for her to continue her daily walks. Her health declined quickly and she passed away on March 11, 2018 peacefully.
