$2165.00Tom Ryan faced a debilitating progressive disease with such bravery and grace which many of us could only ever hope to have. We remember dad's wonderful dark sense of humor, his gregariousness and his love of friendly competition between friends and family whether it be playing Madden football with his sons or dominating at Catch Phrase, Risk, Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit. Dad would always say goodbye or sign off on phone calls with the same phrase/directions, "Be good, be smart, be happy. I love you." He said that more than anything.
Tom Ryan was surrounded by his family and died with dignity, without pain. He was not a particularly religious man and seemed to follow Buddhism more than anything else.
Our family is reeling but celebrate his life. Hawaiian shirts will be required at his memorial, as that was one specification he made prior to his passing - Tom had a great sense of humor too.
We miss him terribly.
