$1765.00In Memory of Simone Marie Monteiro
Simone Marie Monteiro, of Ludlow, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Born in St. Dizier, France, on October 31, 1938, Simone devoted her life to the people she loved. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, godmother, aunt and friend. Her greatest joy was her family, and she found happiness in the simple but meaningful ways she could care for the people around her.
Simone was the beloved wife of the late Armand D. Monteiro, who courageously battled Parkinson's disease for many years. Throughout his illness, Simone stood faithfully beside him as his wife and devoted caregiver. She experienced firsthand the challenges that Parkinson's can bring not only to those living with the disease, but also to the families who love and care for them.
Although Simone herself did not have Parkinson's disease, her family's experience with the disease makes supporting Parkinson's research especially meaningful to us. In her memory, we have chosen to support The Michael J. Fox Foundation and its efforts to accelerate research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Parkinson's disease.
We invite family and friends to honor Simone's memory by making a donation in her name. In doing so, you can help other families facing the challenges that Simone and Armand knew so well.
Simone's greatest legacy is the love she gave to her family. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, strength, devotion, and the countless ways she cared for those around her. We will miss her terribly and carry her love with us always.
**In memory of Simone, and in honor of Armand's courageous journey, thank you for helping us support the fight against Parkinson's disease.**
