Raised in Tribute:
$2031.25Ann was diagnosed at 40 years old with Parkinson's Disease. She fought hard to not let this disease define her - and managed to live with it for 31 years. Despite having this disease, Ann did everything she could to live her best life. She was a successful real estate agent in Sacramento; she was happily married to her husband Dave; she raised two daughters, Janet and Lori; and she moved to Bellevue, Washington to be near her four grandchildren.
In 2014, Ann was a candidate for DBS surgery. This surgery was a turning point for her. While initially struggling with her gait, the surgery gave her new energy and allowed her to more successfully live with and manage PD. It was especially encouraging for her that year as she was able to welcome two grandchildren. In the years that followed, Ann was an amazing grandmother to four and whenever she was with them, she could be depended on for treats and trips to the nearest ice cream shop.
Ann mustered strength over the years to support the Parkinson's community through various walks, scavenger hunts, fundraisers, and events at Top Golf. She was joined in 2020 with her Parkinson's diagnosis by her loving husband Dave. Dave knew a lot about what to expect and how to find strength among the PD diagnosis by watching Ann over the years. Ann thought they would have fun shaking a leg on the dancefloor someday, always looking for humor and reasons to laugh when times got hard.
Research for PD and clinical trials will help others like Dave and millions of Americans who suffer from PD. Thank you all for loving Ann and supporting the PD community in Ann's honor.
