Alfred Pina Jr., a beloved coach, skilled mechanic, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2025, at the age of 77, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Known to many as "the best mechanic around," Alfred's true passion extended beyond cars and onto the softball fields of Rockport, Llano, and Liberty Hill. He dedicated countless hours to coaching, mentoring, and shaping the lives of young athletes. A devout member of the Church of Christ, Alfred's faith guided his actions and interactions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Avelina Pina; his brothers, Joe "Bebo" Gilbert and Oscar Pina; and his infant daughter, Maria Avelina.
Alfred leaves behind his cherished wife and best friend, Alice. He is also survived by his brothers, Roy (Carol) and Lionel; his sister, Diana (Fidel); He will be deeply missed by his children and stepchildren, Debra (Johnny), Adam (Sherry), and Vanessa (Alphas), Lorie (Mark), April (Josh), and Natalie.
Alfred was a joyful presence in the lives of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing his love for cars and creating lasting memories. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
