Xina Stewart, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025. She was 74 years old.
Xina was born on August 3, 1950, in Albany, New York, to the late Charles Losacco and Myrtle F. (Blendell) Losacco. She was a 1968 graduate of Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, New York, and went on to earn a from Eastern Michigan University in 1972 and a Master of Library Science from the University of Michigan in 1976.
On September 5, 1970, she married the love of her life, David Nisbet Stewart, in Delmar, New York. Together they built a life rooted in love, learning, and service. She was the devoted mother of Sarah Stewart (husband Andrew Morrow) of Worcester, MA, and Andrew Stewart (wife Nicole Stewart) of Huntington Woods, MI. She cherished her role as grandmother to three beloved grandchildren, Benedict Morrow, Charles Morrow, and Eliza Stewart.
Xina enjoyed a successful 19-year career at Comerica Bank, where she retired in 2017 as Vice President of International Trust and Custody. Widely respected in her field, she was recognized as one of the preeminent American experts in captive insurance.
Beyond her professional achievements, Xina was a passionate and active member of her community. She was a longtime member of the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Church in Southfield, Michigan, and served as a Sunday preschool teacher and Moderator . She was also involved with the Friends of the Library in Huntington Woods and the League of Women Voters in Kent, Ohio.
Xina found great joy in cooking, gardening, athletics, knitting, reading, travel, music, and—above all—spending time with her family and friends. Her warmth, intellect, and spirit touched everyone who knew her.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Xina is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Carl Losacco (wife Lesley Keeble) of Asheville, NC; Grace Losacco of Mayfield, NY; and Paul Losacco (wife Shifee Losacco) of Stamford, CT.
A memorial service celebrating Xina’s life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:30 at Northwest Unitarian Universalist Church, 23925 Northwestern Highway, Southfield, MI 48075.
