Raised in Tribute:
$3214.16In loving memory of Kathleen Hill (8/22/41 - 3/7/25)
With great sadness, we lost Kathleen on March 7th, 2025, after a 20-year-long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Kathleen was a glowing example of strength and perseverance.
Born and raised in Medford, MA, alongside her seven siblings, Kathleen pursued a hard-earned nursing degree at Boston College. She went on to build a lifelong career in the medical field while raising her four children—Paul, Kevin, Mary, and Peter—in North Andover, MA. Never one to settle, Kathleen later returned to school to earn her master’s degree from Boston University, proving that nothing could stand in the way of her pursuit of knowledge, career, and family.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Kathleen knows that a visit with her meant three things: you’d leave wiser, well-fed, and with sore stomach muscles from laughing. Her love for storytelling, sharp wit, and ability to convey life lessons left an indelible mark on all generations. She was a natural teacher, always eager to share her wisdom with those who needed it most.
Beyond her love of learning, Kathleen had an adventurous spirit that led her across the world. Alongside her beloved husband, Edwin (Butch) Hill, she explored countless cultures and countries. She passed this passion for exploration down to her children and grandchildren, creating irreplaceable memories along the way. A true testament to her character, Kathleen climbed Mount Kilimanjaro shortly after receiving her Parkinson’s diagnosis – choosing to keep that news to herself. Even in challenging times, she remained unstoppable.
If you’re looking for a way to honor Kathleen and the incredible woman she was, consider donating to Parkinson’s research through this tribute page. There is no better way to celebrate her life than by supporting the pursuit of knowledge and research that may one day help others.
We love you, Kathleen. May your spirit live on through research, chocolate chip cookies, and endless fond memories.
