Raised in Tribute:
$7096.30Edward (Ed, Eddie, Big Ed) Croco was larger than life, and lived his life accordingly. He was one of a kind. He leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship. Successful by every measure, but most importantly in the care and love he had for his family. Blessed with a 50 year marriage to Suzanne, she and Ed created the best family a child (of any age) could have dreamed of. His daughters, Sarah and Lacey, are eternally grateful for the life their dad helped to provide. The unconditional love and support that he gave that undoubtedly allowed them to be where they are today.
No one was a stranger when Ed was around. He was kind and welcoming to everyone, always extending an invitation and finding a way to help or brighten someone's day. Always focusing on the positive and finding the good things, even when life was hard. His laugh and smile are forever with us. Known as well for being a jokester, he loved to make people laugh. Be it while playing board games or card games, basketball in the driveway, golf outings with colleagues, family trips, dinner, clever Christmas present wrapping, or even while partaking in fad diets (if you know, you know), he always brought joy. Loved by his friends and his children's friends, and considered family by many of them, he always took time to be present or create special outings or trips for everyone to enjoy. He helped his daughters move more times than any Dad should, including cross-country more than once. Always available for advice on homeownership, jobs, etc. as his daughters became adults, he was also the most loving and caring Papa to his grandchildren. He was a true partner to Suzanne, and loved to find ways to surprise her with thoughtful gifts or gestures whenever he could. He cared deeply for his extended family on both sides, supporting them in any way he could, and making time for visits, despite not living nearby. Always taking care of people. It is who he was.
He loved to go on adventures and learn new things. Piloting planes, cross-country-touring on a motorcycle, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving, biking trips, living in new places, traveling with Suzanne and his kids, doing triathlons, volunteering to help those less fortunate, always working on his golf swing, and even picking up pickleball. What a full and wonderful life he led. He had no regrets and would have been the first to say that he was blessed beyond measure.
He was taken far too soon from a life he loved and the people who love him dearly. There are far too many memories to list, both the seemingly simple and the more extraordinary - all so wonderful. As we grieve his passing, we celebrate who he was, that he is free from pain and suffering now, and are committed to living each day as he would - to the fullest extent with love and kindness abounding. There will never be another Ed Croco, but we will be forever blessed with having him as the center of our family and world. In this time of grief, we take great solace from the certainty in knowing that Ed’s most fervent wish would be for those he loved to continue loving life.
In honor of Ed, we ask that you continue his legacy of giving and consider making a contribution as you are able to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, as they continue their work to end Parkinson's disease.
With love and gratitude,
Suzanne, Sarah (Ian, Lacey & Natalie), & Lacey (Edison)
