Margaret (Harris) Miller, born on October 23rd, 1934, passed away peacefully on December 28th at Friends Homes – Guilford in Greensboro, NC. She had battled bravely, for years, with the progressively difficult challenges associated with Parkinson's.

Margaret was born in Middlesbrough, England. Soon after leaving school and beginning work at National Provincial Bank in Stockton-on-Tees, she met her (then) supervisor Patrick. They married in 1957 and began a wonderful 67-year global journey together.

Professional travels took them to other cities in England, where they had two children, and then to Chicago in the United States. Additional job assignments followed in Ireland, Nigeria, France, then once again in the US, where they made their base and enjoyed their retirement years – in Greensboro, North Carolina. In total, Margaret lived in 21 homes around the world.

Margaret was genuinely inquisitive, friendly, and generous, possessing a keen wit and deep compassion for others. Comfortable engaging with strangers, on many occasions Margaret left supermarkets, hotel lobbies, and aircraft having made new friends.

Margaret is survived by her husband Patrick, her children Richard and Kathryn (Craig), their seven grandchildren Iain (Whitney), Graham (Qing), Karyn (Eric), Cailean (Christina), Neil, Stewart (McKena) and Sarah; and great-grandchildren John and Jack.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2105 West Market Street, Greensboro NC, 27403, with a reception to follow at Friends Homes - Guilford.
