$1010.60Thank you for visiting this space dedicated to celebrating, remembering and honoring someone special - my dad.
Hyung dedicated his life to his wife and kids and most of all, to God. He was selfless, had the utmost patience, and loved to have fun with games, riddles, and dad jokes. Sadly, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2008 after months of going to doctor after doctor trying to get help for his symptoms. We didn't know how much longer we had with him, but Hyung did his research and did everything he could to slow the progression of this terrible disease. He knew about all the new medications and the superfoods (before they were fads). He also didn't let this disease stop him from doing what he loved. We went on family trips to national parks; he liked to take candid photos and videos of us so that we would remember the little things; and he spent hours and hours gardening so he could share homegrown grapes, pomegranates, jujubes, lettuce, perilla leaves and more to his extended family, church members, and neighbors. Hyung lived with Parkinson's for over 16 years until he passed away in November 2024.
Please consider sharing a memory here or even a donation to help end Parkinson's. Hyung was a generous man and tithed to the church and donated to multiple charities every month so we hope to honor his memory by raising funds to find a cure for Parkinson's in honor of the five million living with Parkinson's worldwide.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
