Raised in Tribute:
$2610.85John Lam was a Parkinson’s warrior. Though he began exhibiting symptoms in his 20s, he was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's at age 30.
His battle against this disease spanned over four decades. Despite the progressive nature of Parkinson’s, John was a steadfast presence for his family. With unwavering optimism, he faced each day with humor and determination. Supported by a loving entourage, he participated in Parkinson’s Foundation walks and National Institute of Health studies. He never allowed his condition to dim his competitive spirit on the golf course or the poker table. A dedicated mentor to fellow Parkinson’s patients, he shared his strength and wisdom with others.
In 2013, as the disease advanced, Deep Brain Stimulation provided a lifeline, extending his quality of life and allowing him to cherish precious moments with his loved ones.
He will be remembered as a cherished husband, father, grandfather, teacher, coach, friend, and fighter. His family remains dedicated to fighting Parkinson’s in his memory as we continue "John's Hope."
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
