Our dear Alison was called home and reunited with her beloved husband, Dave on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. Though her time was cut short, there is no doubt that she left a deep and wide loving imprint on everyone that crossed her path. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin, mother, fur-mother, grandmother and friend. Though at times her struggles with her MS and Parkinson caused her pause, she never failed to move forward and valued each and every day, making sure she was there for those who needed her - truly a selfless person and never stopped living life with positivity no matter the obstacle. She was number 4 of 5 siblings, raised primarily in Encino, CA; one of the original Valley Girls. šŸ˜Š She attended the Lutheran Schools and graduated at UCLA with a degree in Psychology and the President of Zeta Tau Alpha. There was not an actiivty she didn't throw herself in with a passion and head first. Since she was little, she always had a love for entertainment and somehow networked her way onto TV sets/studios (to our mother's concern at a young age). She had that charisma and way about her that no one could say no to her. Though she always thought she would be a veterinarian or a psychologist, she ultimately ended up in the entertainment industry, working in Marketing roles for companies including Mann Theater, AMC Theatres, Tribune Media and ultimately retiring at Allied Advertising as SVP of Strategic Marketing and Business Development. Her role at AMC ended up being the catalyst in meeting her soul mate, Dave at a LA Clippers sponsorship event in San Antonio - it was love at first sight and made her a Clipper fan (and a Dave fan) until her dying day. Even after her retirement from the work force and her MS Diagnosis, this didn't slow her down and she took her valuable skills to become very involved in her church, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Arcadia and for several years helped lead the local Love Fest program benefiting our youth. In 2018 she moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona with her husband Dave and pets, Max (the red-haired cat) and Molly (the beautiful and sweet King Charles Spaniel) in tow. After her move, she was diagnosed with Parkinsonā€™s and 2 years later during Covid, she lost her dear Dave to heart issues. As this time was difficult for everyone in the world, it was a particularly challenging time for her as an isolated widow with 2 diseases. But in 2022, she courageously pulled herself from her bootstraps (with a little help from her friends) and she took herself , Max and Molly moved to Sequim, Washington (a place where she and Dave had fond memories) and lived in a community that quickly grew to love her as much as everyone else had. She loved her daily walks in the beautiful Sequim neighborhood with Molly, talking with all of her neighbors, her weekly poker games with her friends, and daily talks with her family and friends. We are all very grateful that her last couple of years, although cut too short, were rich ones with love surrounding around her.
Alison was always a generous and giving person; she was always helping anyone in need financially, emotionally or spiritually. If you needed her, she made it a priority to be there no matter what she was going through in the moment. We recently had talked about organizations that truly help others and making stridesā€¦ this one was top of mind for her. Thank you so much for honoring Alison in this contribution. Knowing that she has a part in helping this foundation and what they are achieving is a gift to her legacy and her family.
