$151.50Anne’s journey with Parkinson’s began many years ago when her mother, Nancy McNeely, developed the disease and Anne was her full-time caregiver for a number of years. When Anne herself developed Parkinson’s about 12 years ago she fought it head on by staying active through walking, biking, water aerobics and pilates to combat the symptoms. She even took up boxing classes for Parkinson’s patients. A picture of her in boxing class was actually used in a marketing poster for the center where she participated.
Anne was keenly aware of her medication regimen and was extremely militant about staying on schedule and taking everything, especially her “blue pills”, at the proper times throughout the day and night. She took her situation in stride and rarely complained, even as her conditioned worsened over time. Her husband of nearly 67 years, Irby Ballard, stood faithfully by her and was her primary caregiver for many, many months. As time progressed, they were very fortunate to keep Anne comfortable in their home with caregiver help. The whole family pitched in to provide support. Anne’s long battle finally ended on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 with Irby by her side.
She leaves behind a strong legacy of a life full of faith and dedication to Jesus Christ and devotion and love for her entire family.
To her friends she was known as Anne, but to her family she was and will always be known as Mimi. We love you very much Mimi, and we miss you, but we are confident that one day we will be reunited with you again! Praise be to God and our Lord, Jesus Christ!!
