My father, Franklin deBeers, Jr lived until he was 92. He was always in good health but started to slip when he was in his 70's, primarily do to Parkinson's. My mother first noticed a shuffle in his steps and then his handwriting started shrinking. He still had the ability to paint, just like his sister, but not as well as he used to. I never asked my cousins if she had any Parkinson's systems.
At the same time my father regressed, my brother showed similar Parkinson's systems, but not as severe. Bob was four years younger than me so everyone assumed I was next in the family. I have not exhibited any outward signs but over the last 20+ years I have lost my sense of taste and smell. I exercise much more than my brother or father did so maybe that has helped.
I'm sure that my father would have jumped at the chance to be in a Parkinson's study. I hope I can do my part.
