Raised in Tribute:
$100.00Daniel Carl Day, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully on the 7th of June 2024, at his residence in Yorba Linda, California. He was born on the 22nd of April 1942, in Spokane, Washington, to the late Douglas and Marguerite Day. He is survived by his brother Douglas Day Jr and his aunt Gladys Griffith, both of Spokane.
Dan lived with Parkinson's for over 20 years. He never complained and never asked "why me". He fought the good fight until the very end. He remained hopeful that research would advance and one day there would be a cure for Parkinson's disease. The family is grateful to his devoted live-in caregiver Perry and his loving caregiver Mel.
He is survived by his cherished wife of many years, Betty, and his loving children: Tricia Leake (Gary), Margaret Day (Charlie Laboda), Jeff Day (Beth), Tim Day (Kari), Ryan Day (Jenel), and Brandon Day (Heather). He was extremely proud of his twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
A devout sports enthusiast, Dan's loyalty lay with his alma mater's teams, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the University of Washington Huskies, as well as with the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. Above all, Dan's heart belonged to his family. He was the cornerstone of many treasured family gatherings at Lake Tahoe, a tradition spanning over three decades—a legacy that his family intends to honor and continue.
Dan's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his passion for education, and his love of sports. His memory will be held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in September.
