Robert grew up in Brooklyn, NY surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. As a student at the University of Pittsburg, Robert was a varsity gymnast, friend, and community activist, securing grants to provide dental care to underserved communities and working with his fellow students to ensure safety during riots. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1972, embarking on a life career focused on continuous learning, community service, and caring for patients, with practices in Bethlehem, PA and later in Gaithersburg, MD.
Robert loved cooking, fishing, children, and dogs, however his favorite role by far was Grandpa to Joseph, Catherine, Michael, Sammy, and Gabby.
As a medical professional, upon diagnosis, Dr. Laurenzano took great interest in being part of research associated with Parkinson’s disease in hopes of contributing to positive change for treatment and eventually a cure. Any contribution in his honor to help him continue his efforts is much appreciated.
