Raised in Tribute:
$250.00James Wade Aust, 84, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Wade bravely battled Parkinson's disease even as the disease progressed to advanced stages. He was born Jun 4, 1939 to the late Richard Preston Aust and the late Frances Leo Murff Aust in LeFlore County, MS. Wade was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a farmer for most of his life and at heart a maker before his time, often tinkering and inventing and never encountered a task that he couldn't do better himself or at least cheaper.
In his retirement, Wade took up golf and loved golfing with his family. He bought the sail boat he had always wanted and loved sailing on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and taking his grandkids out on the boat. He learned stained glass work and made many works of art treasured by friends and family and still found time for woodworking, raising roses and spending time with his family.
Wade was loved by his extended family as shown through his many nephews and great-nephews named Wade. He will be missed most by his beloved wife of 58 years, Tommie Nell Aust and his daughters, Melissa "Missy" Epps and her husband, Chad, Lisa Fitzpatrick and her husband, Eric, and Patricia Sterns and her husband, Jim. His grandchildren called him Granddaddy and he will be greatly missed from boat rides, letting them drive the golf cart and cookies for breakfast to teaching them how to build a deck and sharing stained glass supplies. His memory and varied skills and talents live on in Phillip, Alicia, Madison, Hannah, Clint, Grace, Hattie Beth, Wade and John David.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Morgan City, Mississippi.
