Raised in Tribute:
$103.00Marie Lanza Wiese (1931-2023) was a beacon of unconditional love for her family. Her devotion knew no bounds, and she would have given her life for any of us without a second thought. Her love was our foundation and guiding light.
Beyond her role as a devoted mother and wife, Marie was a trailblazer. She was the first in our family to graduate from college and furthered her education with a master's degree. Her intellect and leadership shone brightly as she served as the president of our board of education and as deputy mayor of our small town.
Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit were equally impressive. The Lake Placid Olympic Committee licensed Marie's design and logo, and she had the honor of carrying the Olympic torch in 1980. When the nest emptied, she channeled her energy into founding a women's clothing business, Marie where she famously took 48-hour trips to South Korea.
In reflecting on her extraordinary life, I choose to celebrate. I was blessed to have a mother whose life was a tapestry of courage, love, and unwavering strength. There was nothing left unsaid between us, no unfinished business – only a legacy of devotion and inspiration.
Marie touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. As we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life of passion, dignity, and grace. Thank you, Mom, for everything. Your spirit will forever guide us. I will miss our daily conversations.
