Raised in Tribute:
$330.25Rose Ann Mangiaracina Walker passed away from Parkinson's on November 24, 2023. Rose Ann was born on March 24, 1944, to Paul and Dorothy Mangiaracina of Louisiana. She was a certified nurse practitioner with a passion for education and learning. She obtained a master's in nursing and a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology. She leaves behind many who loved her dearly including sons Scott Walker and Shannon Walker (Michelle Acloser) and grandchildren Jenifer Walker-Florez (Mike Florez), Derek Walker, and Brandon Walker, and two first cousins in Louisiana, Rose Mangiaracina Jordan and Josie Mangiaracina Criscoe.
Rose Ann enjoyed reading, movies, and traveling. She also loved dogs dearly and enjoyed gardening until she physically could no longer do so. Rose Ann was very close to all of her grandchildren and enjoyed playing board games with her grandsons and taking them to the library. She also raised her granddaughter, Jenifer, who always considered Rose Ann more of a mother than a grandmother. Rose Ann especially enjoyed showing family visitors the magnificent places she loved in California, where she made her home. In recent years, she enjoyed Scott's daily visits. They would feed the doves in her front yard together, play cards, and he would play the piano for her. Rose Ann also worked in the family business until retirement with her son, Scott, and granddaughter, Jenifer.
Rose Ann was deeply touched by Michael J. Fox's story and proudly supported his foundation during her lifetime. We kindly ask that donations be made to the foundation in her name to honor the life of our wonderful mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend. Thank you.
