Raised in Tribute:
$1752.97It is with deep sadness that his family shares that Peter F. Murawski, 75, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Bristol, CT passed away on Friday, November 10th, in Sumter, SC.
Peter bravely lived with Parkinson's Disease for over 15 years. Rather than despair, Peter and Sue dedicated themselves to doing as much as they could, for as long as they could. This included a family trip to Alaska, attendance at all three of his children's weddings, the joy and arrival of four grandchildren, a big move to South Carolina, road trips in the car, fishing, the occasional casino stop, visits with friends, good meals, and the gift of time.
The quality of this time can be credited in part to the evolving awareness, care, and medications developed by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. In life, Peter was generous and kind, teaching his family by example the importance of helping others. We hope that in his honor, memorial donations will continue to assist important research and treatments for Parkinson's, and support other families that are faced with this challenge.
We loved our Dad, Grandpa, and partner so much, and are so proud of the way he lived his life.
On behalf of him, and all of us, our sincere thanks for your contribution in his memory.

Peter was born December 1, 1947 in Bristol, CT, son of the late Felix F. and Josephine (Kukulka) Murawski. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Peter graduated from Hartford Institute of Accounting in 1967 with an Associate Degree in Accounting. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an accountant for Altek Electronics Inc. of Torrington.
Peter was a beloved father, grandfather, partner, and friend to many. He was a man of faith that believed in treating others with respect and kindness. He asked for little, but gave a lot. He had an enormous heart, a quick-witted sense of humor, and an easygoing way about him.
Peter loved fishing – especially in retirement. There wasn’t a lake or pond he passed that wasn’t scoped out for the best access to bites, and this past year he had the pleasure of teaching his grandchildren how to fish. During retirement Peter also became an author, writing a memoir filled with stories of his life that will now be passed from generation to generation. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, UConn basketball, and a firm believer in making the foul shots. Peter enjoyed travelling, visiting with friends, and spending quality time with his family, which he viewed as his greatest accomplishment.
He is survived by his loving partner, Susan Korzeniecky; his daughters, Heather Flannery and her husband Bryan of Wethersfield, CT, Julianne Bermudez and her husband Michael of Middletown, CT; his son Joshua Murawski and his wife Lauren of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren Grace and Isabel Bermudez, Jacob Flannery, and Emerson Murawski; his sisters, Alice Joyce and her husband Frances, Janice Murawski-Payne, Patricia Murawski and his brother, David Murawski, of Bristol, CT, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
