Raised in Tribute:
$622.00Brian was born in 1944 in Ishpeming, MI, to Carl and Myrtle Carlson; his father also lost his life to Parkinson's. Brian is survived by his devoted loving wife of 54 years, Sharon, and his children. Kimberly, Timothy, and James (Jim), his daughter-in-law Amy, grandson Fisher, sister Bonnie, brother Bruce, and sister-in-law Pat, as well as 3 generations of nieces and nephews.
Dad's Parkinson's diagnosis was attributed to Agent Orange exposure from his time spent deployed to Vietnam. He was slowly robbed of life over more than a decade and succumbed to Parkinson's related complications in October 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Friend. Brian loved his Denver Broncos, was a 29-hand Cribbage player, and a 300 bowler.
Both Brian and his Father were involved in Parkinson's research studies at the Mayo Clinic, and we hope and believe their contributions there were in some way helpful towards the research into Parkinson's, and its devastating effects on its countless victims.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
