Raised in Tribute:
$1624.00Barry Fred Klein
August 27, 1940 - August 28, 2023
Barry Fred Klein was born on August 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY. Barry proudly served in the US Army Reserves in his 20s, worked as a lithographer on a Beatles album cover, started his own small business, married in 1968 and ran the Long Island Marathon in 1983, amongst many other life accomplishments. Barry eventually landed a job as a statistician and risked culture shock by moving his family from Queens, NY to Granada Hills, CA. Shortly thereafter, Barry was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which he battled for the next 40 years. The disease robbed him of his health, but never robbed him of his sweetness, his sense of humor, his savviness or the love he gave and received from so many.
Barry is survived by his wife Sandra Jean Klein; eldest daughter Liza Klein Kaye, her husband Daniel, their daughters Sedona and Odessa; middle daughter Blythe Klein, her husband David Moss, their children Kaya and Colin; and youngest daughter Jordana Klein. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Dr. Howard Klein. Barry passed away in the early morning hours after celebrating his 83rd birthday with his family by his side, dressed to the nines, with balloons and song. He is continuing to make contributions to the world after his death by being a body donor to the UCLA Body Donor Program.
In Barry's memory, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
