William Forgey Patton went to be with the Lord on August 7th, 2023, finally free of the prison of Parkinson's, after 87 years of life and 66 years of marriage.
Along his earthly journey, he fathered three children who brought him six grandchildren and a great grandson. He was the baby of the family to his older brother and sister who made him a beloved uncle to 10 nieces and nephews.
He wasn’t a millionaire but his bank account always had enough money for his family, friends and countless people in Christian ministry. He was also generous with his time, serving at church, the community youth center, delivering meals on wheels and hosting international students.
He was an intellectual man, who earned his professional chemical engineering certificate, made shrewd stock investments, and could repair absolutely anything. He also proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Army.
Just like the Eagle Scout he was, he lived the scout oath, doing his best to leave this world a better place than when he entered it. More than that, he enriched the lives of those he touched and now awaits them in paradise.
He is survived by his wife, Meredith Patton, brother John T. Patton and children Linda Walsh, Allison Vehlewald and John W. Patton..
