$2409.25Tom Clift was born January 20, 1942. He found his calling in administering and developing programs for special needs children as Director of Special Education in the Syracuse, Ottawa and BOCES school districts. Just prior to retiring in 1997, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He caught it early and medications worked for years to manage the symptoms. Tom was open to any kinds of solutions and opted for the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) which helped him for years. He joined Parkinson’s groups and used his talents to help educate others on this disease and spoke at a PD symposium in Shreveport. Over the past six years, the disease kept him close to home with his partner of 20 years caring for him. His children, David Clift, Laura Armstrong, Tim Clift and Tom Clift, and his husband Gary Slade invite you to honor Tom with a donation to this foundation to continue their excellent work in Parkinson's research.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
