Bharat Desai was born in Bulsar Gujarat India in 1942. He was the oldest of five siblings, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Bharat attended Gujarat University and received a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to study at the University of Bombay and received a Masters of Science degree in Chemistry. Bharat moved to America, where he made strides in Industrial Chemistry with several patents in his name.

Bharat married Purnima Desai. They have two sons and three grandchildren. He was much loved in his community in Canal Walk New Jersey where he had so many friends and family. Bharat also loved the winter trips to his Florida house where he could enjoy the beaches, daily walks, and golf.

Bharat was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2017. He was able to live a full life up to this year, 2023. The progression of the disease with the accompanying complications, brought a sad end to his journey.
