Raised in Tribute:
$615.00We write this with great sadness over the unimaginable loss of our mother, grandmother, mother in-law, and wife, Lucila Franco. Lucila passed away on July 12, 2023, at the age of 89. She battled Parkinson's Disease and resulting dementia for the past 35+ years of her life. Lucila was a resilient woman who was an excellent cook, loved sewing and making clothes for her daughter while growing up, and absolutely loved to dance. Lucila had a great support system to assist with all the hardships faced due to Parkinson's. Although Lucila's death was expected, her passing has saddened us beyond words.
She fought a long tough journey battling Parkinson’s, but the disease quickly advanced. She took each day in stride, never really complaining, yet always tired. Over time Lucila could no longer speak, but we learned to read her cues from her beautiful eyes and her smiles once the disease took over her body. Her beautiful spirit will live on through her children, and they will always know how much she loved them. Her magnetic smile will be dearly missed by her husband of 72 years of marriage, Fernando Franco. We know she tried with all her heart to keep fighting as long as she could, but God called her, and it was her time.
During her illness, we know there were three things that kept her going, her children, her husband, and her diligent strength. We want to thank and give appreciation to her home attendants, especially Deyci who cared for Lucila as if Lucila were her own mother. Our hope is the Lucila rests in peace knowing she fought as hard as she could, even on the toughest days, and that her children and loving husband will be fine. When we love so much and so hard, it’s comforting to know that a piece of them will always be with us in our hearts. Lucila, we love you and already miss you dearly. You will forever live in our hearts.
Until we see you again,
Your Loving Family
