Raised in Tribute:
$603.00On Sunday, June 25th, 2023, Jane Davis Galante, loving wife, mother, grandmother, relative and friend to many, passed away at the age of 83. Jane was born on February 29, 1940, a leap year baby in support of her being a rare person, in Saugus MA. She married Ralph L. Galante on July 9, 1960, in Saugus Massachusetts, their beloved hometown.
Jane and Ralph traveled across the United States during their tenure in the Air Force. After Ralph’s service, they spent the formative years with their children, Mike, Mark and Lauren in Sparta NJ. After their children graduated from High School, Ralph and Jane headed back to New England where they spent summers in New Durham, NH and winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. They spent their spare time traveling to all ends of the world with their friends and family. A short time after Jane was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, Ralph and Jane moved to Denver so that Ralph would have help from family through the progression of her disease.
Jane’s family and friends nourished her soul. A testament to her infectious character and loving nature, Jane made lasting and impactful friendships her whole life. Her best friend until her passing, Ruth Antonucci, had been her friend since kindergarten. Her priority in life was spending quality time with her people, particularly her Saugus girls and the many other friends she made along her life’s journey.
Jane loved sharing her life with Ralph, particularly at their lake house. She lived to teach her grandchildren cards on the deck, tend to her flower garden and listen for loons with Ralph while drinking their nightly wine.
She will be remembered for her beaming smile, her kisses on the cheek, and being tough as nails with a soft heart. A kind soul, Jane believed in social justice and caring for any and all of the world’s inhabitants-people and animals alike.
She is survived by her husband Ralph; Children- Michael (wife Carole), Mark (wife Karen) and Lauren (husband Glenn); Grandchildren-Tatiana and Isabella Galante, Alexis Libert, Egidio and Lorenzo Galante, Henry and Ellie Furuta; and Brother Tim Churchard (wife Judy).
