Lorraine Newton, 84, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, Lorraine was an alumna of Hamilton High School West, class of 1956, and married Leon Newton, in 1958. Their love and commitment to each other lasted for 65 beautiful years and together they raised three children: Jeffrey, Sharyn, and Kendra.
Lorraine was a successful real estate broker for many years, but her true passion was spending quality time with her family and friends. She loved creating wonderful memories at Long Beach Island, making holidays special, gardening, and cooking delicious meals. Lorraine's joy and happiness shone brightest when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored more than anything in this world.
Daughter of the late Frank and Anna May (Barger) Skok, she is survived by her husband, Leon J. Newton; her children, Jeffrey and Barbara Newton, Sharyn Newton and her partner, Ricky Carnevale, and Kendra and John Martin; her grandchildren, Claire LeCroy and her husband, Blake, Cameron Newton, Shane Martin, and Mackenzie Martin; and her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Frank Pinelli.
Lorraine will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and warmth will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
