Michael “Mike” Dean Wright 62, passed away in his home on May 10th, 2023 in Pittsboro, due to complications from advanced staged Parkinson’s disease.

Mike was born on February 9th, 1961 in Chapel Hill, to his parents Ronald and Jerri Wright. He attended Jordan High School in Durham, and later received his GED. He was a dedicated and loyal employee for 17 years as the dairy manager at Lowes Foods at Chatham Crossing in Chapel Hill prior to his health issues in 2003 .

Mike had a great sense of humor, loved his rock music and had an extensive collection that he acquired over the years, and was most definitely a hardcore Carolina Tar Heel basketball fan. He had a kind and caring heart and would have helped anyone in need.


Mike is survived by his mother, Jerri Wright of Durham NC; his sister Paige Tingen (husband Dennis), his niece Taylor Tingen ( and great niece Lexie), aunts and uncles, many cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wright and his nephew Dale Tingen.


There will be a service for Mike on Saturday May 13th at 2:00 at Walker’s Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 1-2 at Walkers Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Michael J.
