$25.75Donald (Don) Dean Rogers, 87, of Lake Tapps, WA, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in his home.
Don was born on May 27, 1935 to Mark and Mary Rogers in Austin, Minnesota. He received his GED from Green River Community College in Auburn, WA. He started his first job with the Northern Pacific Railroad (Burlington Northern Railroad) as a crew caller, kick starting a 41 year history with the railroad. He climbed up through the ranks and made it to management as a material manager. Throughout his career, Don was able to travel a lot with work, including memorable visits to Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Canada to name a few.
In 1956, Don met Patricia (Pat) Rogers (Cunningham) in Auburn, Washington. He was the “boy next door.” They fell in love and got married on September 21, 1957 in Auburn, WA. Don and Pat went on to have 2 children, Sherry and Kimberly.
In 1991, Don retired and he enjoyed traveling across the United States to many places with his wife Pat to include Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Oregon and Nevada, but especially spending quality time with friends and family every chance he got.
Don was preceded in death by his Father Mark Rogers and Mother Mary Rogers. He is survived by his loving wife Pat; children: Sherry Rogers of Lake Tapps, WA and Kimberly (Nic) Richardson of Puyallup, WA; grandchildren: Ethan Waddell, Lucas Whitehouse and Logan Richardson.
