$2431.00Barbara Lee (John) Talley, 80, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on April 9, 2023, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease with support from her dedicated caregivers Lora, Elizabeth, and Sharon.
Barbara was born April 22, 1942, in Johnstown, PA, the only child to Robert and Betty John. Barbara graduated from Westmont High School in 1960 and went on to study business at Cambria Rowe Business College.
While in high school Barbara met her husband James Talley of Cumberland, MD. They married in 1961 while James was a student at the University of Pittsburgh. They had three children - Brion, Lisa, and Jamie.
In 1985 Barbara retired from the Montgomery County Maryland public school system to support her husband’s career as an engineering executive. They lived in Europe, South America as well as several major cities in the USA.
Barbara avidly supported her communities in fund raising including the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Bienvenidos in her beloved Santa Fe. In addition, she held numerous civic leadership roles in Santa Fe, NM and Roseville, CA.
Warm hearted, loving, with a gentle kindness; radiant blue eyes, a brilliant smile, and a contagious laugh; a friend to everyone; passionately devoted to her children and grandchildren; Barbara will be sorely missed by all that came in her orbit. Barbara is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband James, of 62 years, their children Brion, Lisa and Jamie and six grandchildren.
At her request, Barbara was cremated, and her remains will be interred in the family mausoleum at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
