To Michael J. Fox,
My husband has an early onset Dx of Parkinson's. He was diagnosed 4 years ago at the age of 50. The biggest problem is that there is only one medication out there to treat the Carbidopa-levodopa. As Michael J. Fox knows, dyskinesia is a very bad side effect of the medication. Therefore my husband, Rex, limits his dosage to two 25 mg tabs two to three times a day. His condition is thankfully only motor skills related, out of the three possible results stemming from the disease so I feel like it is a silver lining. However, I am writing because I feel like if there is anyone invested in a cure or a possible change in the pharmaceutical aspect of treatment it is Michael. I have seen too many people in my Kentucky communities and family members diagnosed wrongly and over medicated or dying from PD related causes. I want to help fight for a better understanding and treatment. My husband, Rex, is too strong, beautiful and genius in many ways, thus I have a great desire to see the treatment of this horrible disease transforming and moving in the correct direction.
Thank you for your time,
Angela R. Palmer
