Shelvie Nabors Irwin, 85, of Greensboro passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Shelvie was a 19 year winner over Parkinson's Disease.
Born on December 17, 1937 in Greensboro, she was the daughter of the late Lee Odell Nabors and Lillie Stanley Nabors. Shelvie was a compassionate caregiver for children and was a lifelong member of Lawndale Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking and loved her sweets. She also enjoyed spending time and being involved with her family and their activities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lynn Irwin and sister, Delane Pate.
Shelvie is survived by her children, Cheryl Kalapp, Randall Irwin and Craig Irwin (Valerie); grandchildren, Lee and Chris Kalapp, Sarah and Amy Irwin and Jacob Irwin; a great granddaughter, Parker Kalapp; a special nephew, Eric Pate; her special 4 legged companion, Bella; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Shelvie’s life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Lawndale Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Boling officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
