Raised in Tribute:
$261.62Lucielle (“Lucy”) Arlene Greenberg Hickey died peacefully in her sleep on December 10, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was 76.
Lucy was born into a family of talented entertainers. Raised in the Grand Concourse section of the Bronx, Lucy was known for her warmth, her love of motion pictures and singing, and her fantastic sense of humor. She spent the majority of her adult life as an administrative assistant, medical receptionist, and waitress, making friends and creating laughter at each stop along the way. Most importantly, Lucy was a mother. She shared her wit and wry humor with her two children and jumped at every opportunity to brag about them.
A natural storyteller, Lucy dreamed of being an author throughout her life. Finally, in her retirement and with the help of her childhood friend, she completed a collection of autobiographical stories sharing her experience with addiction and recovery.
Lucy spent her later years in Delray Beach, Florida, soaking up the sun and enjoying her many friendships. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, she spent a good deal of her time devoted to the online community for individuals struggling with the disease.
Lucy‘s husband, Robert Hickey, predeceased her in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Stacia Iaia; her son, Michael Iaia and his partner, Dorea; her grand-dog Murray; and by the many friends she loved so much. She will be remembered for her exuberance, her irreverent humor, her love of animals, and her ability to make everyone feel at home.
