Raised in Tribute:
$349.00Ronald Ellis Vriens, devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather, was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on February 16, 1940, he passed away peacefully at The Cogir Quarry Memory Care Center in Vancouver, Washington on November 28, 2022, surrounded by family. He was 82.
Ron was diagnosed with Parkinson's around 2014. He bravely battled the Parkinson's disease. He never complained about his disease or the challenges he was having even during hard days. He was a man who always wanted to do things for himself, and it was hard having to rely on others for support. But even with all that he never complained, and everyone said they really liked him and that he was always kind.
Ron grew up in Homedale, Idaho, where he loved to hunt as a kid and ride around on his red motorcycle. He unfortunately lost his mother at the age of 17. After high school he joined the Air Force and honorably served his time at Lackland AF Base in Del Rio, Texas and then at Ramstein AF Base in Germany. From his time in the Air Force, he learned to be an aircraft mechanic and through that time it led him to a career that he loved working on airplanes as a lead aircraft mechanic and trainer later in his career with United Airlines where he worked for 38 years until he retired in 2001.
He was married to the love of his life Laura for over 62 years, and they had two daughters (Tina and Tracey), one granddaughter (Andrea) and one great grandson (Sawyer).
