Raised in Tribute:
$206.00This is in honor of William and Helen -- for all their great work and all their suffering. William was a doctor in Florida, and his wife donated much time and money to help those in need. In his later years, William suffered from Parkinson's and was cared for by his wife, both at home and at the hospital. It was tough on both of them.
Helen and William settled in Tallahassee in 1953, where William set up his orthopaedic practice. Helen volunteered for many community activities involving her children. She also volunteered for the medical community, including the Women's Medical Auxiliary and the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in Tallahassee.
Helen passed on her appreciation of nature to her children. She was an avid gardener and found her creative voice when the purchase of a bonsai led her to join the Tallahassee Bonsai Society. As a member of the Tallahassee Bonsai Society for several decades, Helen enjoyed attending local plant digs and workshops, as well as statewide and sometimes national conventions.
William died in 2000. Helen continued to care for her family and flowers until she passed away in November of 2022. We want to honor them for their work in medicine and in family.
