Len Heimowitz of Fairfax, Virginia passed away on December 4, 2022 at the age of 73. After living with Parkinson’s Disease for more than 10 years, Len was very recently diagnosed with late-stage cancer and due to his complicated medical history he was not able to withstand treatment. Len is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sara Heimowitz, his two daughters Shari Winston and Amy Ackerman, his two son-in-laws, David Winston and Richie Ackerman, his two grandchildren, Eli Winston and Reva Ackerman, his sister and brother-in-law Joanie and Ron Geffner, and his three nieces, Stacey DeMyer, Arielle Geffner, and Elana Kalan.

Len was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1949 and moved to Virginia in 1974, where he and Sara built their life together. He spent nearly 40 years working for the US Government, including the Internal Revenue Service, US Tariff Commission, and the Department of Commerce, where he spent most of his career and for which he traveled extensively.

In his free time, Len enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, seeing movies, concerts and shows, as well as playing poker with his friends and keeping up with his favorite sports teams: the New York Yankees, Jets and Giants, as well as the Washington Nationals.
