Born to Italian immigrants in New Britain, CT, my Dad, Sgt Major John Ronzo, USMC, devoted his life to serving his country and fellow Americans. He proudly served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Stationed in Twentynine Palms, he called 3rd LAAM Battalion his home. His 2 tours of duty in Vietnam included Chu Li and DaNang. In North Carolina, he joined 2nd Radio Battalion at Camp Geiger.
Besides a robust military career, my Dad was also the loving husband of my Mom, and proud father of 4 grateful children. We looked up to his example of hard work, devotion to duty, and loyalty to family and country. My 3 siblings all joined military service; 2 to the Navy and 1 to the USMC. Mom enjoyed working as a secretary in federal service, and I became a police officer.
Dad loved people and never met a stranger. He was greatly loved by his fellow Marines. He was a leader of the next generation of young Marines. His extended family back in CT reflected their love and pride in their brother, cousin, and uncle "JACKIE"!
WE MISS HIM AND HIS LIGHT IN OUR LIVES!
