Raised in Tribute:
$1596.50Moira Symanski, 75, of Williamsburg, VA passed away on November 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Kathleen Cooney and her beloved brother Eugene Cooney. Moira grew up in Norwalk, CT and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English from Trinity College in Washington, DC. She spent most of her life in the DC area and enjoyed spending the last fifteen years in Williamsburg. Moira was a dedicated teacher who felt blessed to spend most of her career at her beloved The Potomac School in McLean, VA. She loved traveling with her husband and enjoyed playing bridge, reading, participating in her book club and the arts. Moira is survived by her loving husband David Symanski and their children Katharine McHugh (David Tascione), Jeffrey Symanski (Jennifer Fluri), and LeeAnn Moore (Matthew Moore). She adored spending time with her grandchildren Luke Bannister, Nathaniel and Dominic Tascione. She enjoyed reading to her grandsons and watching them participate in their activities. A remembrance gathering in Williamsburg will be planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Foundation.
